Do Dogs dream? This question might hit into your mind once, and you tried to get the answer of this. Being a dog parent, you care your dog as your own children. And that is a very good deed which you should do.
Whenever you see your dog sleeping, you love that moment. It's normal, because while sleeping dogs really looks too cute. But, when you see them quivering or twitching their legs in sleep, you must be amazed. Is my dog dreaming?
That is true dogs dream. The brain of dogs is same as humans structural level. Also, wave pattern of the brain of dogs is same as people and the brain goes through the same stages of electrical activity which is observed in human beings. It is consistent with the idea that they are dreaming.
In fact, if dogs did not dream, that would be a great surprise. Because according to recent evidence, animals simpler and less intelligent than dogs are noticed dreaming. It is found that animals certainly recalls those memories in dreams which they have done during their awake state. Which is same as humans do in their dreams.
This cannot be denied that dogs dreams. Since the brain of the dogs is more complex and shows the same electrical wave pattern, it is very reasonable to assume that dogs do dream.
Now, when you know that your dog dreams, you must be willing to see him dreaming. If you want to know when your dog is dreaming, you just have to see him from the time he starts to drift off. Dog's breathing becomes more regular when sleep becomes deeper. Almost after a period of 20 minutes, the first dream of an average sized dog should start. If you look closely enough, you can see your dog's eyes moving behind his close lids. His eyes start moving because he is actually looking at the images as he looks in a real world.
So, look at your dog when they are sleeping and guess what they are dreaming. They might be dreaming about some cuddling moments with you. :)
